I'm working on this site http://www.yourdentalsupply.com and I'm wondering about Social Media .. is it worth it for Ranking? .. I mean posting and getting engaged with social media .. will it make your site rank better?.

Most of the articles say that they are nofollow links and are a waste of time but some of the articles go into details to describe how to get Dofollow backlinks from them.

Finally which social media websites are worth the effort?

They do not make your site rank better they only provide referral traffic.

It's not so that important. But in 2015 it's really important factor to rank site. Twitter is the best platform, if you have lots of tweets then your site will rank.
