Reading through a blog post talking about ethical link building I found out that forum posting and en mass blog post comment are unethical methods of getting links. Can someone tell me more about Link building Ethics?

Link building should be done with quality and relevancy. There is no ethical link building unless it is done naturally or voluntarily.

Forum postin, Blog creation and updating, Niche Guest Blogging, blog commenting, Social Media Posting, and so on.

In link building all process must be done by in an organic way. Whatever you do for your link building task do in a proper and organic way.

When you value your link and the respect the source from where you are getting it then you may call it ethical.Creating useless and uninformative links is bad.They will not reside on those pages for long time.The only reason is that they are not informative and internet values information.If you are commenting then comment for a reason.
