i don't think so that instagram is good for seo, its a social media site

It would be nice, cause instagram is such a good media to share photo content imo.
But the way that instagram is almost only phone and tablet friendly, makes it complicated.

Instagram is not good for SEO per se. Even though Instagram introduced places, a feed of pictures by users with your location, the content is not crawlable.What's worse is there is no Alt text either which slows rendering of the page it's put on.

Instagram is only good to gain traffic through images.

Instagram can be used by SEO for marketing purpose by linking the sites through the images links.
