Low Quality Backlinks or SPAM
 

Google released an update on 18th of October 2014' nothing comes up in news in form of "any wording". But it seems like websites with some low quality backlinks had a bad drop down after this update. Some websites shifted from 1st page to 4th.

So i believe the good strategy is to build good quality backlinks that can be less in number but they would be high in quality.

What do you people think about it?

The higher the pagerank of the website the better the backlink. The best backlinks that Google trusts the most are from .edu and .gov, hard to get but really can make a difference. So yeah quality over quantity.
