I know about Pinterest and Tumblr but I haven't heard about Foursquare. Pinterest and Tumblr are the best social media sites where you can share your website URL to get the notice of people who always engages in them. These sites are the best medium for sharing the info of any business to attract more viewers towards it easily.

Social media is not that beneficial for backlink purposes. It is more on promotion, marketing and increasing online presence.

Reddit's also good but it's not really social media.

How we get back-links from Pinterest. As know that we can get back links from reddit, delicious, adn other site. But i do not know how pinterest give back links.

There are some social media services which gives you backlinks but... google robots aren't counting them. Social media are important to generate traffic, but backlinks from that services are useless

They are all nofollow though. So don't waste your time thinking you are going to get super high rankings from them. They probably won't do you much good other than more eyeballs on your content
