yes agree with the crystal21 that to build quality link post quality content but i think thread is about the back links from the google and think to get back link from the google do google book marking and try to put link other google services such as the google youtube and orkut if working and other services these are the terms to get link from the google

Google is a search engine. It won't give your backlinks. It index all those links which you have posted on other's website and passes the link juice towards your website.
