I am a big fan of photoshop when it comes to creating dynamic still images. I use it quite often to enhance photographs and product shots.

Today, the high end professional designers refers QuarkXPress and Adobe Indesign. Also Adobe Photoshop is frequently used software for designing Graphics. But make sure you use the current version of adobe photoshop CS6 (13.0.1.2) or CC 2014 (15.1) for high-end graphics designing. Last but not the least your PC/laptop must have good graphics card.
