How many backlinks per day?
 

I've been manually finding do follow blogs with a page rank 1 or higher to comment on and I've been averaging about 20 a day. I see things all the time for "get 1000 backlinks for 1$" and stuff like that but is it legit and will it hurt ranking to get that many backlinks at one time?

If you get maximum of 10 backlinks per day to your website. Itwill be good.

Quality over quantity. It doesn't matter how many backlinks you create per day as long as you keep in mind that quality backlinks are the ones that give your site real value. And since Google penguin update it is even more important that you also get rid of ALL the bad ones.

I wouldn't trust any service that sells you backlinks for $$. Create them your own to make sure you get the good ones for your website.

Build links on those website which have high PR and are relevant to your website. If you are building 5 backlinks in a day, it doesn't matter but it should be of high quality.

There is not any specific rules about getting backlinks, but keep changing your anchor text to avoid over optimization and any penalty.

yes like the other member have said take it slowly. google will not like it if you suddenly get 1000 back links and they are probally not quality links either
