Best domain for new website

Hello,
I'm currently setting up a new website.
It's non commercial and will be used for information and education concerning renewable energy.

Previously I've always used .co.uk domain. In this instance due to lack of availability I'm considering using a .org.uk domain.
I don't think the visitors to the website will have any issue with this (in terms of credibility) - all though technically I am not an organisation, just an individual

My question is how will this affect SEO, if at all? Specifically Google, all other things being equal, may I rank lower than a .co.uk?

Any help much appreciated.

It does not matter what your domain extension is. Do SEO properly, you will get your result.
