No-follow is an HTML attribute value used to instruct search engines bots that means a hyperlink should not influence the link targets ranking in the search engines pages.

A nofollow link tell the Google Crawler doesn't need to examine into it. Although it isn't counted as a point in the page's favor as Aman897 said, you should balance the number of nofollow & dofollow backlinks so that google won't mark your site as cheat

Nofollow links are not helpful in SEO but we use nofollow links to get traffic on our site.

No Follow is an attribute, to tell Bot no to index/follow link.

They are more used to generate you a ranking rate on Google. Its what Google uses to find a position to rank your website :) Hope this helps!
