Both are social media sites where you can share images with others. Here you can also promote your company or products. In instagram you can also share videos.

Instagram has no links (some posts do, but they are actually ads) while Pinterest is mostly about links being shared and a picture of the post chosen as representation.

both sites are owned by facebook and major difference between pintrest and Instagram is, instagram is used to shares the photo but you can't download or share the photo, it's just for viewing and reviewing and Pintrest is used to pin the picture to your site. the major difference is purpose, while pintrest is for public sharing and instagram is for social sharing. Instagram is based on app and operated with app you can caht with other instagram user. but you can't do this in pintrist
