I've been able to get several pin boards on the first page of search results. I'd advise using it.

To me, Pinterest is where I can share the most gorgeous pictures of mine and pin the pictures I like most. But it is more than that, Pinterest is also where I can do marketing by posting image there and build link. The effect of pinterest is quite positive to my site.

Its a platform where you can share your idea with good visualize mode ( e.g pics or infographics).
