I'm working on this site http://www.yourdentalsupply.com and I'm wondering about Social Media .. is it worth it for Ranking? .. I mean posting and getting engaged with social media .. will it make your site rank better?.

Most of the articles say that they are nofollow links and are a waste of time but some of the articles go into details to describe how to get Dofollow backlinks from them.

Finally which social media websites are worth the effort?

They do not make your site rank better they only provide referral traffic.

It is not about its worth, for an online business, it is an opportunity to extend its resource. It is all about possibilities: ranking, traffic, leads, increasing online presence etc.
