Which is better for graphic design?

Which is better for graphic design: Illustrator or Photoshop?

XBoy69 02-14-2015 04:06 AM

i think Illustrator better than photoshop

MrMarkDobson 02-14-2015 03:44 PM

That depends on what you are doing.
Most graphic designers use Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator every day.
Photoshop for editing photos, Illustrator for creating logos, and Indesign for DTP

I personally Suggest you Photoshop.

Both are good and you can not rely only on one. Both has their own benefits and limitations. Also it depends on your own convenience and expertness.

The BEST university for graphic design is ART CENTER IN PASADENA,CA,I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go there ! ITS A FANTASTIC SCHOOL!! Ask ANY graphic designer and they will say the same, ART CENTER OR NEW YORK.

You can use both for Web design depends upon your choice but when it comes to deliver web designs/wire frames early then Illustrator is a lot quicker and easier to use for this task.
I want to add that, for many designers (including myself) Photoshop is usually the first choice here. As Photoshop graphics sit on a pixel based bitmap it would seem like the only choice for designing on screen media.

However, when designing user interfaces, Illustrator can provide many advantages that Photoshop cannot. Firstly, using Illustrator here makes the job a lot faster - there's the obvious resizing points. Illustrator is also great for creating reusable components. Using the symbols panel in Illustrator, you can create a library of icons and form elements that can be reused and manipulated many times over.

Both are good software's for designers, but illustrator can be more useful in making animated characters, even it is possible in Photoshop but more easy in illustrator.

Well it will depend on a designer about how he is using the graphic designer software, there are many designers who are creating best designs with using and there are also designers who are using illustrator.

I like photoshop as its more easy to do stuff in it.

If you create Vector Graphics, then it is Illustrator, but for best result, you can combine both of them.

I'm not a professional designer, but sometimes I use online browser extensions to make changes to images. I also use useful tools such as online graphic design editors and professional sketching programs. I know that a lot of designers use samples like here https://www.ls.graphics/free-mockups/flyer-mockup to create mockups for print products. It really saves me a lot of time doing this kind of work and helps to avoid mistakes.
