Orkut was a great social media site and not doubt it was pioneer in this field but it has not much importance but still important in regional level. You should use it to get traffic and advertise your brand.

According to me, Orkut is an outdated social networking website.
Today maximum number of people in the world is either use Facebook or Twitter.
I personally prefer Facebook over Twitter.
