Although I don't discourage book but I don't think books are needed anymore for learning as we have better ways to learn. There are tons of videos on youtube for learning java. A channel named" Durga softtech" has full series for learning java at youtube. For textual matter, you can read through JAVATPOINT. It contains very good resources.

I suggest YouTube, there's some awesome tutorials on there. But I also recommend doing a project, a small one at first, because that is when you truly learn how to program in Java. As you come across issues, stackoverflow.com will be your friend :)
