if you’re talking about link building you are probably talking about SEO and building links in order to improve your rankings on Google (and other search engines of course!). Over the years the practice of link building has included several different strategies which Google has ruled to be spammy and has killed off one way or another.

You do of course have the right to build links to your website in whatever way you want. But if you want to rank well in Google, then you’re going to have to play by their rules. So here’s a quick run-down of the less favorable options.

Guest posting is not bad link building. If you are doing it in proper way and with your high traffic niche website, Guest posting is the most effective way for getting backlinks.

Well, there's isn't much more for me to add to this thread. It seems it's been well covered. Will just say quality content + links and it all looking natural is the key.

If you are creating backlinks with low quality or duplicate content, and using low DA sites and not following search engine guidelines then this is bad link building.

Bad backlinks:
- Dead links
- Links put to blacklist of Google
- Not relevant content
